Ayden's current progress - February 2009

As you might guess, I have been quite busy traveling to Detroit on a daily basis with Ayden. I also attend SVSU two nights a week. The Hope program is set up so that only one person can take Ayden. So Dave stays home with Evan and his job while I work with Ayden. The theory is to learn the program so that I can then teach it to Dave, his brothers and other family and friends who are helping Ayden with his treatment.

Since beginning the program Ayden has been coming along quite well. He has improved in both his language skills and his motor skills. He is now able to sit for longer periods of time, put on his coat and he is much more interactive with his family.

He is really starting to understand the power of language and how it can get him things that he wants. He is really good at saying things like I want juice, I want Cheetos, I want Moonsand and of course, "I want down" to his Nana Rae.

Still it is difficult to find the time to get much else done, even this update. As I said, I am going to school and as many of you know, there is a lot of homework. Also each night, I have homework to complete with Ayden as well. As soon as I have the time, I will update everyone on more specifics of the program. In the mean time please keep us in your prayers.

We are still in need of raising funds to cover the April sessions. My Uncle Chris has a credit with Snap on Tools. He is taking the credit and buying a set of Snap On wrenches and the Snap on Tool guy is going to sell raffle tickets. We are hoping this goes well.

We also have a poster that you can print and put up at your place of employment. Anything you can do to help will greatly be appreciated!
